Roland J. Chan, MD


Originally from California, Dr. Chan is a highly skilled rheumatologist who has served southern New England for over two decades. Dr. Chan is a graduate of Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and did his internship and residency in internal medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He completed his subspecialty fellowship in rheumatology at the Massachusetts General Hospital and has held clinical faculty status at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Chan has particular interests in systemic vasculitis and diseases which mimic them in addition to systemic lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic sclerosis, psoriatic arthritis and organ complications of connective tissue diseases. Dr. Chan is board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology and is a fellow of the American College of Rheumatology. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Chan developed clinical expertise in the effects of COVID-19 on immunosuppressed states. Among his other interests, he is an amateur cellist and is passionate about supporting classical orchestral music.
