Joseph Marcotte, MD
General Surgery
Dr. Joseph Marcotte is a board certified, fellowship-trained, minimally invasive surgeon with expertise in bariatric and general surgery procedures. He operates at Saint Anne’s Hospital in Fall River, a bariatric surgery Center of Excellence. He has been recognized as a Master Surgeon in Robotic Surgery. His interests include minimally invasive hernia repairs, metabolic and weight loss surgery and operations to treat acid reflux.
Dr. Marcotte graduated summa cum laude from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Science in microbiology. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from George Washington University School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at Cooper University Hospital, where he also served as a clinical instructor at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. Following residency, he pursued fellowship training in Advanced GI, Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery at South Miami Hospital.
Throughout his career, Dr. Marcotte has been recognized for his research and academic contributions, and he has published in numerous peer-reviewed journals. His research experience spans surgical innovation, patient-centered outcomes, and wound healing, with work conducted at academic medical centers and the National Institutes of Health.
He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.
