Dr. Recupero is one of a select group of surgeons who is fellowship trained and double board certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery.
Dr. Recupero earned his undergraduate degree from Bowdoin College graduating Magna Cum Laude. He is a graduate of Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and completed an Otolaryngology Head and Neck residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center/National Capital Consortium in Washington, DC. After completing his residency training, he was selected as one of only 40 surgeons nation-wide for a prestigious fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He completed this specialized training at the world renowned McCollough Plastic Surgery Clinic in Gulf Shores, Alabama under the direction of the former president of the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, Dr. E. Gaylon McCollough.
Dr. Recupero proceeded to complete his active duty service obligation in the United States Army where he used his highly specialized training and skill set to perform facial reconstruction on many wounded servicemen and women. He is a decorated Iraq War veteran that deployed as the Otolaryngology/Facial Plastic Surgery consultant to the Surgeon General during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn in 2010. He completed his active duty service obligation in 2014 as the chief of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia where he helped teach and train Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery residents. Most recently, Dr. Recupero was an Otolaryngologist/Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at Tri-County Medical Associates in Milford, MA and served as the division chief for Otolaryngology at Milford Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Recupero provides specialty care for patients in all areas of ears, nose and throat as well as head and neck surgery. This includes hearing and balance problems, nasal and sinus disease, voice disorders, snoring and sleep apnea, and head and neck cancer. He also specializes in both surgical and non-surgical facial rejuvenation and reconstruction. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American Board of Otolaryngology, and the American Board of Facial Plastic Surgery.He holds academic appointments at the Eastern Virginia Medical School and the Uniform Services University of Health Sciences. He is a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, and the Massachusetts Society of Otolaryngology.
