A graduate of Michigan State University, he earned his medical degree at the University of Michigan and completed an orthopedic residency at the University of Missouri. He began private practice in New Bedford in 1979 and was the first orthopedic surgeon invited to join Hawthorn Medical Associates in 2001. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society and Massachusetts Orthopedic Association.
