Hawthorn Medical Associates Employees Earn Awards of Excellence

Four Hawthorn Medical Associates employees, Lynn Martin, Donna Mattos-Santiago, Angela Pires and Carmen Rapoza, were presented with "Partners in Excellence" Awards at a recent ceremony. The "Partners in Excellence" Award was established by Partners HealthCare System to recognize talented and dedicated employees each year for their contributions to the organization.

Hawthorn Medical is affiliated with Partners HealthCare and Partners Community Healthcare, Inc. (PCHI), their community-based network of physicians and hospitals.

Employees receiving Partners in Excellence Awards are (from left) Donna Mattos-Santiago, Carmen Rapoza, Angela Pires and Lynn Martin.

Ms. Martin and Ms. Mattos-Santiago received a team excellence award for their work as clinical coordinators. Their nominator states that "Lynn and Donna work tirelessly overseeing day-to-day operations. They are innovative in coming up with solutions to challenges, are always willing to participate in community events, and have their hearts in the care of all of our patients."

Ms. Pires and Ms. Rapoza received individual awards for quality treatment and service. Ms. Pires works at the Information Desk. Her nominator states, "she is proactive in helping patients. She has a busy position with constant interruptions but never loses her smile. She is truly concerned with the convenience of patients and consistently provides the highest quality customer service."

Ms. Rapoza is secretary to Dr. Michael Egan. According to her nominator, she views her position as more than someone who takes a message. "She views it as a partnership with the doctor to ensure that each patient's needs are met. She approaches each patient, phone call and situation with the utmost respect and professionalism."
