 Hospitalists
Hospital Medicine physicians, or Hospitalists, provide comprehensive inpatient care. They are experienced in caring for patients with the acute medical illnesses that typically require a hospital stay. They are immediately available to attend to patients, consult with or provide updates to referring physicians, consult with family members, and arrange consultation with specialists as necessary. They remain in contact with the patient's primary care physician. Upon discharge, patients are referred back to the primary care physician for follow-up care and management.
